Hi, I'm Trish! I'm the person behind True North Pet.
Caring for animals has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and for more than 12 years, it was also my career. I started as a veterinary assistant in general practice and eventually became a hospital manager at an emergency and critical care hospital. Along the way, I gained extensive experience caring for pets with all kinds of needs, from routine care to complex medical situations.
I loved the work and the animals, but after COVID, I stepped away from veterinary medicine. I was burnt out and needed time away from the pace and pressures of the veterinary world.
But I never stopped caring for animals.
I continued pet sitting for friends, family, and clients, providing veterinary technician visits and medication administration when needed. Over time, I realized what I missed most wasn't the hospital, it was the animals, the relationships, and getting to know each pet's unique personality and quirks. I missed being someone both pets and their people could count on.
After living in Nashville and Phoenix and providing specialized pet care along the way, I eventually found myself ready to come home. Back to my roots in Geauga County, I decided it was time to take a chance on myself and create something of my own.
True North Pet was born from the idea of finding your way back to what feels right. For me, that meant coming home, returning to the work I love, and creating a kind of pet care that feels personal, genuine, and rooted in experience.
I live in Chardon with my partner, Seth, our golden retriever Puzzle, our cats Niko and Zeb, and our two honeybee hives. When I'm not caring for furry clients, you'll usually find me outdoors- trail running, paddle boarding, or enjoying time with my own animals.
My mission is simple: provide exceptional care for your pets and give you peace of mind. Whether you're at work, traveling, or just need an extra helping hand, you can feel confident knowing your pets are in experienced, compassionate hands.
I'm so happy to be back in Geauga County and to have the opportunity to care for your pets with the experience, patience, and personal attention they deserve.
Let's talk about your pets and how I can help.
